Processing Brother's Toxic Message at Beach Sunrise
Early morning at 7 AM, sitting at the beach waiting for sunrise. The sun rises from the east, opposite direction of the ocean. Still dark outside with the camera lighting up the sky slightly more than reality. Processing recent family conflict and broader patterns of human behavior.

[0:00]It's 7 o'clock in the morning here.
[0:04]Came out to the beach to see the
[0:06]sunrise.
[0:08]Rises from the east, of course. So, the
[0:11]opposite direction of the ocean. It's
[0:13]not out yet. It's close.
[0:17]Doesn't rise over the ocean. Obviously,
[0:22]cameras do light the sky up a little bit
[0:24]for the screen, you know, a little bit
[0:26]better than it really is in real life.
[0:28]It's still pretty dark out. So,
[0:31]well, I know how to look on the camera.
[0:36]Just sitting here
[0:39]processing my life.
[0:42]So, my brother sent me a text message
[0:44]yesterday being complete jerk to me. He
[0:49]was drunk. My brother's an alcoholic.
[0:53]And
[0:54]it's just being completely
[0:58]completely unfair and
[1:02]treating me like garbage. And I got to
[1:05]thinking, you know, this is exactly how
[1:06]people treat other people all the time
[1:08]in all kinds of context. They just treat
[1:10]them like garbage.
[1:14]And I'm not like that. I don't treat
[1:15]people that way. I don't treat my
[1:17]friends that way. I have friends who do
[1:20]that though. like that's just their
[1:22]default mode of of of interacting with
[1:26]people is to treat other people like
[1:29][ __ ] garbage.
[1:31]And then some people do it
[1:34]just because they can, just because they
[1:36]have the authority and the power to do
[1:38]it.
[1:40]They treat you like garbage
[1:42]cuz it makes them feel better.
[1:50]But it's everybody.
[1:52]Yesterday, I was walking back to my Jeep
[1:54]from the ocean. Said hi to a man twice
[1:58]cuz he didn't respond back. He was
[2:00]parked right next to me. I was being a
[2:03]polite, normal human being. This man
[2:04]couldn't even acknowledge me. People
[2:07]treat other people like garbage all the
[2:10][ __ ] time now.
[2:13]And I don't understand that.
[2:17]Truly don't.
[2:21]But this is marking a moment because
[2:27]my brother I'm never talking to him
[2:28]again.
[2:33]I've tried.
[2:39]Can't let people like that into my life.
[2:42]I don't let other people treat me like
[2:44]garbage. I have boundaries.
[2:47]And whenever
[2:49]I express those boundaries, it gets me
[2:52]in trouble in some way at Honeyman. It
[2:55]got me tortured for two months and then
[2:57]thrown out
[2:59]on YouTube. It
[3:02]uh resulted in in an audience that
[3:05]didn't understand me, didn't want to
[3:06]understand me, deliberately
[3:07]misunderstood me, and and abandoned me,
[3:14]you know.
[3:17]And
[3:21]that's the world we live in now. Guys,
[3:25]look around you.
[3:31]I tried to build something better. Still
[3:34]trying to build something better. I need
[3:36]support. I need a line support.
[3:42]If I can't find it, then I don't know
[3:43]what to do about this world.
[3:53]So, yeah, that's where my mind is this
[3:55]morning.
Summary
rswfire sits at the beach at 7 AM waiting for sunrise, processing a text message from his alcoholic brother who was drunk and treated him badly. He reflects on how people consistently treat others like garbage - citing his brother, strangers at the beach who ignore basic politeness, and institutional contexts. He describes how expressing boundaries has resulted in negative consequences at Honeyman, on YouTube, and with audiences who misunderstood and abandoned him. He declares he will never speak to his brother again and expresses that he's trying to build something better but needs support, questioning what to do about the world if he can't find it.
