[0:01]So, it's 3:30 here.
[0:04]I need Tuesday. Wednesday. Today's
[0:06]Wednesday, right? Yeah, Wednesday. I
[0:09]have Mondays and Tuesdays off today. Was
[0:11]my first day back.
[0:13]Well,
[0:15]back is not the right word. I live here.
[0:17]But,
[0:19]um, it's been a busy morning. I didn't
[0:22]get a lot of sleep. I was up till 4:00
[0:24]or 5 in the morning. Very old pattern of
[0:26]mine. Whenever I was programming, I was
[0:28]up late.
[0:30]Yeah, that
[0:33]that's not going to work. Like I'm going
[0:35]to have to
[0:37]work on that, I think, cuz I didn't get
[0:39]a lot of sleep. I got up around 9
[0:43]and I was lucky to sleep that long cuz
[0:45]the sun comes out quite early.
[0:48]The sun went right behind the clouds. It
[0:50]got cold here instantly.
[0:53]Good morning though. I did some weed
[0:56]whacking one of the fields and I swept
[0:58]up my
[1:01]um the asphalt
[1:04]my camp spot and my neighbors. He went
[1:07]into town and I did his too. I'm curious
[1:10]if he'll even notice.
[1:12]Being this close to the ocean with all
[1:14]the wind,
[1:16]we got a lot of debris onto the asphalt,
[1:18]lots of sand. I mean, being right next
[1:20]to the dunes, too.
[1:24]So that was my morning and did my rounds
[1:28]and all that kind of stuff and talked to
[1:30]different people and listened to my
[1:33]music.
[1:35]Might have to let these ATVs go by. They
[1:37]can be kind of loud.
[1:41]They're fun to watch.
[1:44]It's fun to watch there.
[1:48]Oh man, what's the word for this one?
[1:53]their behaviors because
[1:55]some of them come in standing up on
[1:58]their their motorbikes or their quads.
[2:00]Others are still sitting, but quite a
[2:01]lot of standown.
[2:04]And you know,
[2:06]looks like they're just parading in
[2:07]here, which is what I thought they were
[2:09]doing, but actually one of my friends
[2:12]told me
[2:14]they're just stretching their legs and
[2:18]something about bumps like you could
[2:21]literally tip up, but not in the quad.
[2:23]So, I don't know. I I feel like there's
[2:25]a little bit of posturing going on, but
[2:28]not in a bad way. just, you know, one of
[2:31]their their traditions. I guess
[2:35]if I ever get a motorbike, I wonder if
[2:37]I'll be standing up probably.
[2:40]I really hope I can do it at my age. My
[2:42]arms are sore just from walking the dog
[2:45]to the ocean the other day, days ago,
[2:47]and I'm still sore from that, though.
[2:49]I've been doing other things like weed
[2:51]whacking. So, but I was sore cuz that
[2:55]dog never stops pulling. We were out
[2:57]there for a couple hours. I walk him
[3:00]every day. Sometimes many times a day
[3:03]just around the campground, not to the
[3:05]ocean. But
[3:08]so I I hope I can ride a motorbike. Um
[3:14]I'm just going with the threads in my
[3:16]head. I just, you know, I love sharing
[3:18]my life, even if I'm the only one that
[3:20]witnesses it. Me and AI basically. but
[3:22]it ends up on my website and
[3:26]um it becomes data for my project. I
[3:29]think that's really important. I want to
[3:30]document everything. So that's why I do
[3:33]this.
[3:35]But I want to talk about uh Upwork. So I
[3:40]made a bunch of videos yesterday, four
[3:41]of them in front of my desktop or my
[3:45]laptop and just going through all my old
[3:48]projects and some of my history and
[3:50]stuff. I really enjoyed this
[3:53]Um,
[3:57]I don't know. I really enjoyed it. I,
[3:59]you know, I could see how maybe for some
[4:01]people it'd be kind of boring, but I
[4:04]enjoyed doing it. I put those on Upwork
[4:06]and that made me feel a little more
[4:07]confident about being able to build a
[4:09]reputation on there. So, I've been on
[4:11]some jobs. I've been on about five of
[4:13]them yesterday. I need to keep doing it,
[4:15]of course, but not even one of those has
[4:18]been opened yet by the person who posted
[4:20]the job. And that to me is unusual.
[4:25]I've never experienced that in all of my
[4:27]years as a freelancer. And it makes me
[4:29]it genuinely makes me wonder if there
[4:32]are some shady tactics on the back end
[4:34]where
[4:36]maybe some of these jobs aren't real.
[4:40]But, you know, I don't think that's the
[4:42]full pattern because I pay attention.
[4:43]like you know I'm some of the jobs I've
[4:47]been on the employers have history and
[4:51]you know payment history so they're
[4:53]active
[4:55]um
[5:01]a whole story about that I'm not going
[5:02]to get into there anyways I'm talking
[5:05]about the diesel but so um
[5:10]man I just lost my train of thought this
[5:12]is a very busy face. You know, I'm going
[5:14]to pause this for a second. I don't I
[5:16]don't like being on camera around other
[5:17]people. It just feels weird. Whatever. I
[5:21]remember what I was talking about. So,
[5:25]part of it just algorithms maybe. And
[5:31]I mean, I don't know. I'm, you know, I'm
[5:33]still I'm still metabolizing it. I
[5:36]haven't I don't have final answers on
[5:38]this yet. just it feels a little fishy
[5:40]to me.
[5:42]But I'll keep bidding on jobs. The
[5:44]problem is is Upwork, you have to
[5:46]actually use these stupid tokens in
[5:48]order to bid on jobs. You don't just pay
[5:51]a monthly membership fee. I mean, you
[5:52]pay for that. I already paid for that,
[5:55]but you also use tokens to bid on jobs,
[5:58]and you run out of tokens. So, you have
[6:01]to be careful what you bid on. And if
[6:02]they're not even looking at the jobs,
[6:05]that's real problematic.
[6:08]It's a very exploitative market. I'm,
[6:10]you know, I feel like it's one of the
[6:12]reasons I resisted it.
[6:15]Um, well, you know, at this point, I
[6:17]really don't have any other choice.
[6:20]Hopefully find some good work on there,
[6:23]some aligned work.
[6:28]Hi, how are you?
[6:30]So, I'm using my phone that has uh it's
[6:34]a folding phone. My mom sent me this
[6:37]when I broke my phone in January. Man,
[6:39]I'm telling you, I'm getting old. Look
[6:41]at my eyes. It's just not right. Like,
[6:44]why does that happen?
[6:47]I haven't been putting anything on. No
[6:49]moisturizer or anything. And, you know,
[6:52]probably make it look better. Plus, I
[6:53]said I had no sleep. Whatever. That's
[6:55]why I have these on, by the way.
[6:58]Anyway, so I have this phone that folds,
[7:01]you know, out and I was just that's what
[7:05]I'm doing now. It has a different
[7:06]camera, I think. I don't know how there
[7:08]must be so many cameras on this thing. I
[7:10]don't know if it looks different. But
[7:12]anyways, I had to stop the last video
[7:14]because uh guest came up to me and we
[7:16]just wanted to talk for a while. So,
[7:19]I'll just have to clip these together.
[7:21]Well, what were we talking about?
[7:27]We're talking about Upwork.
[7:29]Anyways, I'm going to be working on that
[7:31]cuz I need money so [ __ ] bad. Um,
[7:38]I will find something. This was always
[7:40]my fallback option. I thought it would
[7:42]be Guru because that's where my
[7:43]reputation is, but that platform just
[7:46]died. So, I will build a new one just
[7:49]like I did with Guru. just like I've
[7:52]done a million times in my life.
[7:57]If there is a viewer out there, somebody
[8:00]who's
[8:03]familiar with me, who's been watching my
[8:05]life
[8:07]and can help, I'll greatly appreciate it
[8:10]cuz I'm struggling here
[8:14]doing everything I can.
[8:18]So, what else? Um, my boss told me today
[8:21]that I don't have to stay at the ATV
[8:23]campground forever. That if I wanted to
[8:25]next summer, I could be at one. She
[8:28]asked me which campgrounds would I like
[8:29]to be. And I told her the two that I
[8:31]would love. And I think both of them
[8:33]would be amazing experiences. They're
[8:36]only open in the summer, both of them.
[8:38]So, you can't be there year round.
[8:42]Maybe that's what I'll do. Cuz I was
[8:44]thinking about I was like, I don't want
[8:45]to like I need my old life back. I can't
[8:48]be a volunteer forever, but if I took a
[8:51]summer one, the rest of the time I could
[8:54]explore. I'm going to do that. That's
[8:56]what we're going to do. So, anyways,
[8:58]she's going to let me go to one of those
[8:59]next year, which is awesome.
[9:03]I don't mind this place so much. I mean,
[9:05]I'm sitting outside um and you know, I'm
[9:08]just completely open. It's a very
[9:09]exposed space.
[9:12]And sometimes that feels difficult
[9:15]because
[9:16]um it just is you just know eyes are on
[9:19]you and that's for me that's always been
[9:22]never really liked that I was always in
[9:24]the background but I'm different these
[9:26]days and way more willing to just let
[9:30]people witness me. But there's still
[9:33]times where you just want to chill and
[9:34]just be left alone. You don't really get
[9:37]that luxury here. But I probably would
[9:39]at the other campgrounds and the
[9:40]experience would be different and all of
[9:42]that. So guess that something to look
[9:45]forward to
[9:47]as long as everything works out cuz I'm
[9:49]very likely to lose this RV.
[9:52]I don't know when or how.
[9:56]So I had asked the bank in writing to
[10:00]tell me how would I return this to them
[10:02]safely you know like can is there a way
[10:05]to uh
[10:08]just give it back to them and they
[10:10]refuse to answer these questions.
[10:13]So
[10:17]I really don't know what the next step
[10:18]is. You know they kind of left me in
[10:20]limbo there.
[10:22]And I think it's right around the time
[10:24]where they would put it into the
[10:26]repossession status and I don't know
[10:27]what happens after that.
[10:30]I think that it's just something I have
[10:32]to navigate. And
[10:36]the point of bringing this up is because
[10:39]if I lose my RV, I don't know if I could
[10:42]remain a volunteer.
[10:44]I've looked into the options for
[10:46]replacing it with something I can tow
[10:48]with my Jeep. Um, I was wrong about how
[10:52]uh much I can tow. I can only tow 2,000
[10:54]lbs. That's why I went with the RV in
[10:56]the first place. I thought it was 3500.
[10:58]2,000s
[11:00]and that is a very hard limit uh to get
[11:03]anything that
[11:06]would be reasonable to live in long
[11:08]term. So, I just I'm
[11:11]unsure.
[11:13]Um,
[11:14]face it when I have to face it.
[11:18]Like, would they let me stay here and
[11:20]attend? I got quite a little, you know,
[11:21]a pretty big yard back there if just,
[11:24]you know, temporarily while I get my
[11:26]next unit. And, you know, hope hopefully
[11:30]that's an option if it comes to that.
[11:32]Like, I just don't know. There's no way
[11:34]to know. So, I just
[11:49]Some things are really hard to say. I
[11:50]don't know why I just
[11:57]there are a lot of layers to what I
[11:58]tried to express and I just don't
[12:02]and sometimes I won't say something if I
[12:04]think it can be misrecognized or
[12:06]misunderstood or flattened like because
[12:10]you're if you give a response to
[12:13]something and people see that as the
[12:15]whole response when it's not that's
[12:17]flattening you it's kind of like that
[12:19]with this subject. I just
[12:23]I don't want to fight. It's It's too
[12:25]important. It's too big of a deal.
[12:28]So, I'm just sitting out here. I'm
[12:30]waiting for my neighbor to get back. He
[12:31]went into town. Then, I'm going to call
[12:34]it a day as far as being on duty.
[12:38]Then, I'll go take a shower cuz I didn't
[12:39]shower yet this morning.
[12:42]I used up all my hot water doing my
[12:44]dishes.
[12:45]And then I'm going to work on the
[12:47]computer and
[12:49]make something to eat and probably go to
[12:51]bed early if I can't cuz I got to not
[12:53]get enough sleep.
[12:56]Still another video to make uh for the
[12:59]Upwork thing that I was doing and that's
[13:01]just on my homepage. So very curious
[13:05]what this camera looks like. So I'm
[13:06]going to put them together now. Let's
[13:07]see what Oh, I know what I was going to
[13:09]tell y'all which nobody's listening at
[13:11]this point. We're so far in. Cutting my
[13:13]hair. That's what I started this video
[13:16]to tell you guys.
[13:18]I'm going to get rid of all this hair.
[13:20]It's just too much. And if I can't um
[13:24]do anything with it if I can't go see a
[13:26]hairstylist, get it trimmed,
[13:29]if I can't manage it, you know, cuz
[13:31]they're real messy. Like it doesn't
[13:32]always look good. Sometimes it looks
[13:35]really awesome. Most of the time it
[13:38]doesn't. And I noticed
[13:41]I noticed yesterday I wanted to put my
[13:43]um that was a mosquito. I hate
[13:45]mosquitoes.
[13:47]I noticed wanting to put my hat on when
[13:50]I was getting on camera for those videos
[13:51]I made. So that told me
[13:56]it's time to shave it.
[13:58]I'll start over. You know, I grew this
[14:01]out for six or seven months.
[14:03]I'll have to do that again.
[14:07]Once it got to a certain length, I
[14:08]really liked it.
[14:12]So, I don't think I'll like it
[14:14]completely shaved, but I used to, but I
[14:18]just this kind of grew on me, but I just
[14:22]need to for management reasons. Like,
[14:26]so I have more reliable source of
[14:28]revenue coming in all the time. I can
[14:30]see a stylist.
[14:32]I'm just going to do what I always did
[14:33]and just shave it all off.
[14:37]So, yeah.
