[0:00]Good morning, YouTube. It's 9:00 in the
[0:02]morning here. Making some coffee,
[0:05]getting my day
[0:07]started. Uh, today is my first day of my
[0:09]new volunteer position. So, I'm going to
[0:11]be going through orientation and
[0:15]um paperwork, stuff like that. Learning
[0:16]my role, learning what my hours are.
[0:18]That's important because once I know
[0:20]what hours I'm working, I can look for
[0:22]work in town.
[0:24]hoping I'll be able to work like maybe 8
[0:26]to noon and then I can get a job for
[0:27]like afternoon
[0:29]and that's what I'm going to try doing.
[0:31]I know that there's a convenience store
[0:33]in town that's hiring. I'm going to try
[0:35]to um see if I can get a job there.
[0:37]There's a gas station that's hiring
[0:39]also. So, I'll apply at both.
[0:44]Um so, that's what my morning looks
[0:46]like.
[0:49]I'm I'm just going to ask. I need help,
[0:52]guys.
[0:55]I keep asking because it's a need. It's
[0:57]a real need that I have and I'm just not
[1:00]getting the support that I need. So, I
[1:01]have to keep
[1:03]asking. At some point, um, all of this
[1:06]is going to be solved
[1:09]and I won't be asking anymore, but I'll
[1:12]also be a little bit better because I
[1:13]feel like my audience has abandoned me.
[1:16]So, if you can help, please help. All
[1:18]right. I need some help.
[1:21]not going
[1:23]to gravel, you know. I'm just going to
[1:26]tell you these are real needs I have. I
[1:28]need groceries. My my internet bill is
[1:30]due. That's
[1:31]$150. It's probably getting shut off
[1:33]today or tomorrow. I'm not sure
[1:35]which. Without my internet, I can't work
[1:38]on my homepage. I can't work on trying
[1:41]to find freelancing jobs, you know, like
[1:46]it's just
[1:50]I'm navigating life the best I
[1:53]can and I just need some
[1:56]help. So, the reason I started this
[1:58]video is because I was just thinking
[2:00]something
[2:01]new. Um, yesterday, last night, I posted
[2:05]a video about the direction I see
[2:08]society taking where we kind of
[2:10]bifurcate
[2:11]and a small subset of
[2:15]humanity exists in
[2:18]you know, these smart cities,
[2:21]these these places of of structure and
[2:24]stability while the rest of us are
[2:29]navigating life
[2:32]without
[2:34]the things we've learned to depend on
[2:37]throughout our lives. you know, without
[2:40]reliable energy production, without
[2:43]functioning water systems, you know,
[2:45]that clean our water and
[2:47]um without our food just showing up at a
[2:50]grocery store and you know, all of that,
[2:52]like all kinds of things. And I was
[2:54]like, you know, I'm not here offering
[2:55]solutions because I feel like if there
[2:58]were
[2:59]solutions, we would have been working
[3:00]towards them throughout my lifetime and
[3:02]we haven't
[3:03]been. But I did take that thought a
[3:06]little bit further this morning.
[3:09]So the other day I was just browsing
[3:11]Facebook and this ad came up for an
[3:15]energy company that was offering free
[3:17]solar for people with homes who had
[3:19]houses. They would set up the you know
[3:22]all the solar
[3:24]infrastructure and attach it to their
[3:27]grid. And you know, I I looked at that,
[3:29]I thought, you know, this is a way of um
[3:33]making a distributed power generation
[3:35]network that is still owned by the power
[3:38]companies. It's not owned by the
[3:40]individuals. Maybe, you know, you'd have
[3:42]to look at the contracts and they're
[3:43]probably all different. And I did
[3:44]explore this a little bit with AI, but
[3:48]um more than likely, you know, these are
[3:51]also very smart systems. they, you know,
[3:53]they're connected to the internet and
[3:54]they can um take the power from your
[3:58]batteries and put that onto the grid if
[4:00]they want to. I mean, you know, this
[4:01]these are systems that they're not
[4:03]really built for the user. They're built
[4:05]for the networks that, you know, you're
[4:06]supporting a network
[4:13]and
[4:15]that on the surface looks like a really
[4:18]good solution because it's a way of
[4:19]generating power.
[4:22]um using renewable energy and
[4:25]distributing it across a community. This
[4:27]is actually a really good thing except
[4:30]that it's owned by the power companies.
[4:31]So you're not really
[4:36]um you know there's still the profit
[4:38]motive, right?
[4:40]So but I was thinking, you know, as
[4:42]things go on, maybe 5 years from now, 10
[4:44]years from now, as things start
[4:46]destabilizing even more, some
[4:48]communities are going to be more
[4:49]resilient than others. And that's
[4:50]something you might want to look into.
[4:52]You might want to research what
[4:53]communities feel
[4:54]like maybe they'll survive longer. I
[4:57]mean, you're going to have a lot of
[4:58]problems to deal with.
[4:59]But I think
[5:04]that that might be one way that we adapt
[5:07]in the future where communities do have
[5:09]systems like that. And they're not owned
[5:12]by power companies. are owned by the
[5:14]community, by the governments, by
[5:17]whatever government you guys form in
[5:19]your
[5:22]community. So, you know, it's an
[5:26]interesting world we're about to enter.
[5:27]And, you know, I'm always thinking
[5:30]about I mean, I don't spend all my time
[5:33]thinking about this stuff. This is
[5:34]what's on my mind now. And I just the
[5:37]culmination
[5:39]of just seeing that ad on Facebook and
[5:43]what I discussed last
[5:44]night just kind of melded the two into
[5:47]this new thought that I'm having. And
[5:49]that's basically how that happens,
[5:51]right? So, just thought I would share
[5:53]it. So, anyways, I'm having like issues
[5:56]with my eye. Like I I was I took my
[5:58]contacts out last night, but I couldn't
[6:00]find this one. I keep looking at my eye
[6:02]and I'm like,
[6:04]um, I don't see it in there. So, I'm
[6:06]like, what happened to this contact? But
[6:08]my eye feels kind of weird. And so, I
[6:11]put new contacts in this morning cuz I
[6:13]was like, okay, well, if there is still
[6:14]a contact in there, the second contact
[6:16]is really going to react with it. And
[6:18]maybe that will tell me, but I don't
[6:20]know. My eye is all messed up. Like, I
[6:22]just don't even
[6:23]know. I guess that's a minor concern I
[6:26]have today. This is part of wearing
[6:27]contacts, whatever.
[6:29]So, I'm going to get my coffee and then
[6:32]start my day.
