[0:20]this morning pick up some

[0:31]ashamed of stuff like that there's no

[0:36]fun I'm going to be early they don't

[2:26]close this river runs into the ocean

[4:17]lights across from the bridge there's a

[4:20]whole area of Dunes you can see those on

[4:22]the map on the other side of that is the

[4:24]beach and the ocean I just got to figure

[4:26]out how to get over there I kind of know

[4:27]cuz I looked this up before but those

[4:29]Dunes look kind of interesting too

[4:31]there's a couple of places there we can

[4:32]rent ATVs and stuff like that so um

[4:36]might be worth just going over there and

[4:37]looking around and stuff I mean we're

[4:40]very close to it so to my camera I just

[4:42]thinking that propritor he saw me

[4:44]looking down at the stairs I'm like cuz

[4:46]I'm like I know what's going on down

[4:47]there you know I'm just looking cuz I'm

[4:49]curious and this man's like you can just

[4:52]tell like you you want to go down there

[4:54]like he didn't say that he was

[4:56]like I remember what he said with man

[4:58]that is way he applied like he's like he

[5:00]just go down there that's a popular

[5:02]place but I the first went there like

[5:04]who could possibly have been there

[5:05]should have asked him though was anyone

[7:31]fun even when some people thinks it's

[9:32]then to some Dunes eventually probably

[9:37]didn't read anything that said the ocean

[9:39]just doed so um and I don't want to hike

[9:43]too much cuz my core muscles are still

[9:45]healing but we'll hike a little bit so

[9:47]we'll go find this Trail it's a circular

[9:49]Trail so it might not go to the ocean

[9:51]actually but we'll find out more when we

[9:53]get there cuz there will be signs and

[9:54]things to look at so yeah let's head out

[10:40]passes one of them covered the state

[10:41]parks but I get those for free so that's

[10:44]not

[10:47]helpful I don't know I'm going to need

[10:51]it though cuz all this stuff around here

[10:54]forest like literally I think they

[10:56]control all the dunes or something

[11:00]I've seen a lot of their stuff

[11:01]everywhere I've been going up north here

[11:03]so we might as well just get that over

[11:05]with CU I planed to do it anyways we got

[11:15]visibility oh yeah I to turn my lights

[11:26]lady there God that thing's annoying

[11:32]anyways so I met a nice lady there I

[11:35]asked her about volunteer opportunity

[11:37]she gave me a application to filled out

[11:39]and a phone number someone to call who

[11:42]coordinates all that cuz I have stuff

[11:44]lining up from

[11:48]well Mar up till the end of March and

[11:51]maybe until May because I emailed

[11:53]someone yesterday last night about April

[11:57]May my phone rings a lot

[12:00]so April May I might be at another

[12:03]campgr and just you know I haven't heard

[12:05]back from that but anyway so between

[12:08]April and May I'll either be there or

[12:10]maybe I'll be with the National Forest

[12:11]Service here on the dunes or maybe you

[12:15]know over the summer or something so I

[12:17]got to learn more about that that would

[12:20]be cool it expands to different places

[12:22]that I've volunteering for still have to

[12:26]find

[12:26]hardville I think I ever even noticed

[12:29]this sign here wow I don't think we're

[12:32]going 10 miles though this is the other

[12:34]place in my management

[12:37]area um I'm lighthouse we do need to go

[12:40]check that out I've seen it it's pretty

[12:42]it's a cool Lighthouse there's all kind

[12:44]of stuff happening there

[12:47]too um the Coast Guard is there and the

[12:50]county is what controls the lighthouse

[12:53]and the state park of course there's a

[12:55]whole lot happening there but we're

[12:57]going to go back to that trail head

[13:00]I don't we're not 10 miles from that I

[13:01]don't think hope not guess we could be

[13:06]though there's a little bit of a

[13:08]distance between the two

[13:10]parts well it is what it is I guess we

[13:13]are back we got our PA we know we're

[13:17]getting in

[13:20]trouble I don't see any

[13:22]like that sign doesn't tell you about

[13:25]the map there's no map on that sign

[14:23]from here at least 4 hours for the Six

[14:27]Mile round trimp

[14:29]dramatic dunes and tree

[14:31]Islands oh

[14:46]rain maybe I really want to see this

[14:49]Campground though cuz could end up

[14:51]volunteering there one

[14:53]day might be a really nice I like the

[14:56]National Forest campground they're very

[14:58]rustic usually

[14:59]I took I was on quite a few on my way

[15:01]here um from Kentucky so I've seen some

[15:05]pretty bad showers too or actually not

[15:07]even showers just yeah showers the

[15:11]worst truly the worst one I've ever seen

[15:14]with the Mark Twain National Forest

[15:17]so oh this is going to be nice it's been

[15:20]a while since I was on a hiking trail

[15:22]not on the

[15:25]ocean oh this wonderful all right

[15:30]all the work they put into

[15:38]this got some

[15:40]elevations I should probably pull up a

[15:42]map on guide GPS and download that get

[15:44]an offline version just in case didn't

[15:47]exactly become come

[15:50]prepared I normally wouldn't though

[15:53]but now I know I'm I'm not Invincible

[15:57]cuz my core muscles

[16:00]maybe plan a little bit

[16:50]come now I got to pass every day I could

[16:53]come here way better than that

[17:00]yeah if you look closely in the distance

[17:03]you can see close up on liners all over

[17:08]the

[17:09]place which means they're dealing with

[17:11]the same problem we do with the state

[17:13]parks poverty and

[17:16]homelessness it would be a lot cheaper

[17:18]to stay here probably I

[17:20]think especially for The Rustic sites

[17:22]that don't have electric and water and

[17:24]all of that give them a safe place to

[17:26]be they'd have

[17:29]very basic amenities like they'd have

[17:31]access to water somewhere on the

[17:33]campground they' probably have access to

[17:35]showers and restrooms and well that's

[17:38]basically

[17:40]it but that there that was a sign that

[17:43]they're definitely dealing with the

[17:45]crisis one that's going to keep

[17:49]growing I think I think there was a

[17:51]survey or something that just recently

[17:54]came out that said that um homelessness

[17:56]had

[17:56]risen dramatically in the last year it's

[18:01]going to keep getting

[18:03]worse and I'm going to be out here

[18:05]helping as much as I can this sign says

[18:08]would you believe you are standing on a

[18:09]sand

[18:10]dune the ancient Dunes are hidden by the

[18:12]forest follow the trail to discover

[18:14]Dunes of all ages and shapes you'll be

[18:16]rewarded with the tallest Dunes on the

[18:18]coast that is cool so it's that

[18:21]phenomenon we talked about

[18:24]where things eventually grow on the

[18:26]dunes but they turn this this one into

[18:28]to a forest

[18:31]wow so it's the main trail

[18:37]there okay we can take this we're going

[18:40]to go check out the the campground first

[18:42]I saw that

[18:44]pond so this might be a kind of a small

[18:47]Campground some are quite big I don't

[18:50]know we'll see we don't know how far up

[18:51]goes the northern portion of the loop is

[18:53]easy with the compact Ser General the

[18:55]interpretive Loop you know what

[18:57]volunteers would do that

[19:00]um they were to take people on the walks

[19:01]on the interpretive Loops they're called

[19:03]interpretive hosts or something like

[19:06]that we're going to go check this

[19:08]Campground out wow this Forest has a

[19:11]very nice feeling this Campground there

[19:13]is a

[19:14]Vibe this is a wonderful

[19:20]place if

[19:22]I I wasn't even looking to camp at

[19:25]places like this on the coast cuz

[19:27]there's so many state parks but but

[19:29]this I would want to be here this is

[19:38]wonderful so that's drinking water there

[19:41]the sites don't

[19:43]have um they're very primitive it might

[19:47]just be this loop I looked it up on Guy

[19:49]GPS we're on one Loop there's another

[19:51]loop the other way couldn't tell it

[19:53]might have been closed though cuz there

[19:54]was a gate

[19:56]blocking um but I don't know if there

[19:57]was a different entrance so we'll find

[22:32]different I actually know because of my

[22:35]core muscle injury that it's a little

[22:39]core learned that from

[22:42]AI well from the time I went to Pistol

[22:48]then cuz your core muscles are always

[22:50]stabilizing

[22:52]you and you're shifting on Sand so it's

[22:55]constantly working

[22:59]so we just want to take it

[23:00]slow we're not going to let that be a

[23:03]reason not to do this we're just going

[24:04]Michigan near the great

[24:06]lakes and I just kind of booked it I

[24:08]think I prob always that way oh several

[24:11]Dunes in front of them and then all of a

[24:14]sudden I realized I was by

[24:16]myself oh man I'm pretty sure I cried

[24:20]first time ever feeling alone you know

[24:23]like um I didn't have my mom I didn't

[24:26]have anybody I thought I for some reason

[24:29]I thought I was I'm almost sure I

[24:32]thought I was abandoned up there like

[24:35]they were like I didn't realize they

[24:37]were behind me you know they'd catch up

[24:39]somehow I just saw myself in the middle

[24:41]of these dunes and I'm like oh [ __ ] I'm

[24:45]alone I think about that not often very

[24:48]rarely I've never

[24:51]really

[24:53]um never talked about it never really

[24:56]processed it or anything just

[24:59]it's just a thing that happened to me

[25:01]once wonder if that shaped me at

[25:05]all it's pretty windy up

[25:08]here I don't know what it'll sound like

[25:10]on my camera but hopefully you can hear

[25:19]ocean we got to find her if we

[26:38]line that could be the ocean or it could

[26:41]just be a sand

[26:43]dune so we'll be back maybe

[26:52]call a day cuz yeah we'll do this

[27:28]and that sapling says you can witness me

[27:30]you can watch me

[27:32]grow but you cannot prescribe me advice
