[0:07]morning I woke up to an email saying I

[0:09]got approved to be monetized on

[0:11]YouTube so wow that actually happened I

[0:16]did not think it would I legit did not

[0:19]think there was any chance in the world

[0:20]that was happening so I'm kind of

[0:23]processing it I literally just learned

[0:25]this 10 minutes ago

[0:27]so I thought you know what I know what

[0:29]kind of video to make to this one let me

[0:31]start by saying thank you that's

[0:33]important cuz I actually do care about

[0:35]my community even the times

[0:38]when well I don't care about all of them

[0:41]I'm going to be honest about this I mean

[0:43]that's one of the reasons I can't

[0:44]believe I got approved like but for

[0:47]those of you who have managed to make it

[0:49]this far for 9

[0:51]months knowing like going through all of

[0:54]the stuff that I've gone through I thank

[0:56]you I mean that's something so uh you

[1:00]stuck around through a lot so I

[1:03]I there were certain people along the

[1:05]way that I feel like dropped off at some

[1:07]point and I really liked them so I was

[1:11]you know I feel like I probably lost

[1:12]some of the people that I would loved to

[1:15]have shared this moment with and then

[1:17]there are some new people that have

[1:18]showed up and

[1:20]um so yeah I mean this it's it's

[1:26]crazy oh man I can remember back in the

[1:29]beginning of my channel

[1:30]channel uh telling people not to turn

[1:32]the notification Bell on because I post

[1:34]too much and I didn't want to annoy them

[1:37]that's a thing that

[1:39]happened 550 videos never asking for

[1:43]likes or comments or

[1:46]subscriptions because I wanted it to be

[1:48]organic growth I wanted it to be real I

[1:51]wanted to do it myself I wanted it to be

[1:53]on my

[1:55]terms most of my videos don't have

[1:58]thumbnails they're just Auto generated

[2:00]my descriptions are created by Ai and

[2:03]even have the text of my exchange with

[2:06]AI on there making it very clear that AI

[2:08]made this description for me CU it's

[2:11]just a conversation I'm having with it

[2:12]and I share the transcript with it and I

[2:14]say hey make me some metadata for this

[2:16]and it does that and usually the very

[2:18]last thing it says is would you like me

[2:19]to change any of this metadata it's just

[2:20]some question that's right there in the

[2:24]descriptions except for the recent ones

[2:26]cuz I'm trying a new format so you'll

[2:29]see a pattern if you start looking at my

[2:31]descriptions you'll see like there's a

[2:32]new pattern I'm trying I started

[2:34]applying that to my very oldest videos

[2:36]you can see where I stopped it's pretty

[2:38]obvious and on my newest ones anything

[2:41]in the middle like you'll see like yeah

[2:44]I did

[2:46]that I've had moments of pure joy and

[2:50]frustration with my

[2:52]audience I got to the point where I

[2:54]turned comments off for over a month as

[2:56]I traveled from Kentucky to Oregon

[2:58]literally my I you know was working out

[3:01]I started my channel because I wanted to

[3:03]share my journey with everyone and

[3:06]things got so frustrating so much

[3:08]trolling and nonsense that when I

[3:10]finally got to the point where I was

[3:12]leaving my home state and traveling

[3:14]across the country I just turn comments

[3:16]off the whole

[3:18]time

[3:20]like I don't think I really fit into

[3:23]their boxes this is one of the things

[3:25]that I've been trying to teach you guys

[3:27]is that I live outside of boxes I always

[3:29]have and people try to put me in them

[3:31]that's what I call making me smaller you

[3:33]try to put me in a box you're making me

[3:34]smaller and I reject that always

[3:40]so I'm not sure what like I'm still

[3:44]processing this cuz in a sense I think I

[3:46]just put myself in a box maybe I I hope

[3:49]that's not true but I promise I'll keep

[3:51]telling you all to get off YouTube and

[3:53]go look for some trees and some lakes

[3:55]and you know the ocean and um do some

[3:58]hiking go exploring go make a connection

[4:00]meet you know some random person say

[4:02]hello to them what you know like I'm

[4:04]going to keep asking you guys to get out

[4:06]into the real world and do something

[4:08]meaningful with your life

[4:11]because we need

[4:14]that

[4:16]so yeah I don't know like so I was

[4:20]thinking I was probably going to just

[4:21]put all my videos into their pay wall so

[4:24]that I could kind of limit engagement on

[4:26]my channel but lately the comments have

[4:27]been

[4:30]um I'm maybe the algorithm started

[4:34]adjusting itself because my growth

[4:35]spiked and I thought maybe that looked

[4:37]artificial to me but it's still

[4:39]happening so I just I'm not sure like

[4:42]maybe the algorithm adjusted and it

[4:45]started

[4:46]finding my tribe because for the longest

[4:50]time I was stuck in

[4:51]this um this demographic where it was

[4:55]everybody who who was retirement age

[4:57]that was looking for RV life content and

[4:59]I don't really talk about this thing I

[5:00]live in that's not what this Channel's

[5:02]about you know that was just the vehicle

[5:04]for for everything else I was doing in

[5:07]my life so felt very stuck there that

[5:12]was frustrating but seems like maybe

[5:14]that's changing so I don't really know

[5:16]where we go from here so what a great

[5:19]way to start a new year though right
