Experiencing Earthquake Alert and Tsunami Warning
Located in RV at cliff-edge coastal position in tsunami safe zone. Clear, sunny weather with ocean views. Core muscles are sore from recent activity. Two park rangers made contact during the event.

[0:00]I just got a earthquake alert 160 mil
[0:04]away I have an app on my phone that told
[0:06]me and then I got a text message about
[0:08]it seemed to expect some light shaking
[0:10]so we're just going to sit here and see
[0:11]what
[0:12]happens how long you're supposed to wait
[0:15]though 160
[0:18]miles we're right next to the ocean you
[0:21]know
[0:23]so oh I wish I was out there we could
[0:26]maybe see a little tsunami or
[0:28]something more way up on the cliff Edge
[0:31]so I doubt the water would reach
[0:36]here feel like I should be out there my
[0:39]core muscles are so sore
[0:43]though there's a dog barking outside all
[0:45]of a
[0:46]sudden prob detects it
[0:49]right just sit
[0:56]here I do hear noise like I
[1:03]oh I wish I was out there man probably
[1:06]missing like a cool ass scene out
[1:09]there beyond the
[1:19]trees I didn't think about earthquakes
[1:22]you know like I'm here for the the
[1:25]storms and the Marine layer and the fog
[1:28]and the rain and the thunderstorms and
[1:30]the wind and the ocean and you know all
[1:33]of that but didn't think of
[1:42]earthquakes how long do you think you
[1:44]have to
[1:46]wait boy they sent those alerts out
[1:51]fast I'm just keeping an eye on the
[1:53]Windows seeing what's going on you know
[2:00]I know the second I turn this off it'll
[2:06]happen light
[2:13]shaking how long does it take for an
[2:15]earthquake to travel 160
[2:19]miles it's like half the coast of the
[2:21]Oregon
[2:23]though length of
[2:27]it if anything starts happened I'll turn
[2:30]this camera on real fast so I got a
[2:33]tsunami warning on my phone and then two
[2:36]different Park Rangers came to my RV the
[2:38]first one was official the second one
[2:40]was a friend just wanting to say hi and
[2:41]let me know what was up um we're
[2:43]perfectly safe up here this is a tsunami
[2:45]safe Zone and supposedly it's supposed
[2:48]to come through like 10 to 15 minutes
[2:49]I'm going to try to get that on video
[2:51]even with my core Pro testing oh I guess
[2:55]we missed it well let's just get some
[2:58]beautiful views of the ocean anyways cuz
[2:59]is super nice out the sun is out oh how
[3:02]wonderful to be out
[3:03]here um I should be resting I don't want
[3:07]to upset my car I was actually doing a
[3:09]lot better today but we we're out here
[3:11]so let's enjoy it for a minute
[3:46]t
[4:04]it's really beautiful out there it's a
[4:07]nice
[4:20]colors Mount humbug is over there but
[4:23]it's very hard to see covered in fog
[5:16]there so beautiful
[5:32]all right let me add some wisdom to the
[5:34]end of this so I learned some things I
[5:36]learned that if there that earthquake
[5:38]160 Mi away that would have showed up on
[5:40]shore within 30 to 60 seconds so if I
[5:42]was out there tracing the waves and I
[5:44]got that alert I should have been
[5:45]running my ass off and I probably would
[5:47]have been but I was in my RV I was
[5:49]hundreds of feet up in the air I you
[5:50]know I knew I had some time but my
[5:53]instinct would have been to find High
[5:55]Ground you know I would have taken it
[5:58]seriously but now I know to take it very
[6:00]seriously and so when you're out there
[6:02]tracing the waves I was already doing
[6:05]this but you kind of want to know your
[6:06]Escape Routes you know I kind of already
[6:09]was doing that because of sneaker waves
[6:11]and just the unpredictability of that
[6:13]thing out there so but you want to be
[6:16]conscious of it because if there's an
[6:17]earthquake you get an alert it's time to
[6:20]move and then the tsunami whole
[6:22]different situation if if there is a
[6:26]tsunami coming it's it's possible maybe
[6:28]even likely that the ocean water will
[6:31]recede and you'll see the ocean floor
[6:33]some people apparently will even walk
[6:35]out there and try to rescue fish and
[6:36]stuff or they're just trying to observe
[6:38]what's happening you know but that's
[6:40]dangerous because that water is going
[6:43]somewhere it's going somewhere out there
[6:45]where it's creating all new patterns for
[6:47]that thing to play with and then it's
[6:49]going to come back and it can be
[6:50]anywhere from minutes to hours
[6:54]so respect this thing I do
Summary
rswfire receives earthquake and tsunami alerts on his phone while in his RV. The earthquake occurred 160 miles away with expected light shaking. He waits inside initially, wishing he could observe potential tsunami effects from his cliff-edge location. Two park rangers visit - one official, one a friend - confirming he's in a tsunami safe zone. He ventures outside to film the ocean despite core muscle soreness, capturing scenic coastal views. The transmission concludes with educational reflection on tsunami safety protocols, including the 30-60 second timeline for wave arrival, the importance of knowing escape routes, and the dangerous phenomenon of ocean water receding before a tsunami hits.
Signal Analysis
Substrate
This transmission demonstrates embodied threshold navigation - holding position at the edge between safety and exposure while integrating real-time environmental signals. The architecture is one of conscious edge-dwelling, where proximity to natural forces becomes a practice of attunement rather than mere risk-taking.
