[0:07]know uh just doing my year maintenance

[0:18]Maintenance so I'm about to head into

[0:22]town There's a little town here let me

[0:25]show you so I got my map up here you can

[0:28]see I've add in Nebraska I'm up here in

[0:31]chadon even on this little M that's so

[0:33]cool they've got a few places here

[0:36]Walmart hardware store and auto part

[0:38]store so I can get everything I need

[0:40]today um well not everything but lots of

[0:44]things I need so I'm going to get some

[0:47]groceries finally cuz I did clean out my

[0:49]fridge um the ice problem I had I fix

[0:52]that and I want to start making

[0:55]breakfast in the morning so I'm going to

[0:57]do

[0:58]that um AI gave me a really a bunch of

[1:00]cool ideas for different ways of making

[1:03]eggs and using spices and stuff that

[1:06]I've never done before and

[1:09]um taught me how to make energy bars

[1:12]without um without having to heat them

[1:16]without having to use up my propane

[1:17]thought that was very

[1:19]cool so I'm going to experiment with

[1:21]that I'm going to try tea again cuz it's

[1:26]a thing I've always wanted to do I know

[1:29]I don't like it but but I think it's

[1:31]because for me I thought tea was just

[1:33]tea and honey I didn't know there were

[1:35]other things you could put in there so I

[1:38]did a lot of researching on this over

[1:40]time and feel

[1:42]like pick up the things I need and then

[1:46]going to go to the auto parts store and

[1:48]get the thing I need to keep my mounts

[1:50]up and I'm going to go to hardware store

[1:54]and I'm going to pick up maybe hopefully

[1:56]a 5 lb propane tank that I can keep in

[2:00]my Jeep in a crate and I

[2:04]hailing and um I'm going to get another

[2:07]Mr Buddy Heater you some of you might

[2:10]remember that I kind of ditch that thing

[2:12]on my journey at some point someone

[2:14]picked it up within minutes which is

[2:15]pretty

[2:16]cool and a

[2:19]propane um Grill another thing I

[2:23]abandoned at some point because there's

[2:27]a lot of fire bands in the Pacific

[2:29]Northwest so be able to use my charcoal

[2:32]one and you know it's kind of versatile

[2:35]if I can have a 5B tank in my

[2:38]Jean I can just put in a crate take out

[2:40]when I need to use that for my grill or

[2:42]for the heater it's a good backup option

[2:45]for when I'm out

[2:46]there and because I'm keeping the side

[2:49]in now I do have a lot more storage

[2:51]space I won't keep that stuff in here

[2:54]but you know it means that the stuff

[2:56]that was you got to keep pressure on

[2:59]these

[3:00]oh um the stuff

[3:04]that was out in the storage base is now

[3:06]in here so that gives me

[3:09]room um

[3:11]hopefully yeah it does it just I'm just

[3:14]thinking there's some things I'm going

[3:15]to maybe need to move around but you

[3:18]know these are things that I really do

[3:20]want and and need I don't know what the

[3:22]feature holds and I need to be prepared

[3:24]and I

[3:26]need I need backup options I need

[3:28]Alternatives so

[3:30]that's what I'm doing

[3:32]today hope you guys have a good

[3:34]morning so before I get my morning

[3:38]started some of you might remember I had

[3:40]a Mr Buddy

[3:42]Heater and and um a proing girl and I

[3:46]gave them away I put them near a

[3:47]dumpster and somebody took them like

[3:50]within

[3:51]minutes so there's some things I want to

[3:54]say about this number one I was very

[3:57]happy that somebody took them because

[4:00]I tend to see things like that as

[4:04]resources that can be distributed and I

[4:07]don't need to sell them I don't need to

[4:09]try to get something out of them I'm

[4:12]glad they went to somebody who could use

[4:15]them I'm not attached to things like

[4:18]that in the same

[4:20]way

[4:23]and the reason I let them go is because

[4:26]I was very um constrained with space at

[4:30]the

[4:31]time you know I was struggling

[4:33]to make a system in here that worked for

[4:37]me like it was a constant battle having

[4:39]to deal with these bulky items that just

[4:42]never had a place that I could put them

[4:44]that were constantly Bo being moved

[4:46]around it it

[4:48]was it was adding tension to my life

[4:51]that an unhelpful kind of

[4:54]tension so

[5:00]without any real resistance from myself

[5:03]I was willing to let those things

[5:05]go and find

[5:08]joy and and watching other people take

[5:11]my

[5:13]things

[5:15]today I don't even know five six months

[5:17]later I need those things again

[5:23]and just like any just this is I'm sorry

[5:28]Bailey is distracting me he's very good

[5:30]at that you know he

[5:33]is so I feel like I can better integrate

[5:37]them into my life now I've done a lot

[5:39]of

[5:41]um I don't want to call it downsizing or

[5:44]minimal minim what's I don't know the

[5:47]how to say that I guess um I'm not I'm

[5:51]not part of these Trends Min minimalism

[5:54]or um you know down like that is not

[5:58]that's not how I work that's not how I

[5:59]think I'm not fragmented in that way

[6:02]even minimalism is a kind of

[6:05]fragmentation if you if you see it from

[6:08]an integrated

[6:10]perspective for me I'm creating an

[6:13]integrated system that works for me it's

[6:17]not about minimalism it's

[6:20]about having just the right things that

[6:24]it streamlines my

[6:27]life and so today I going I get those

[6:31]things melee is he's doing really well

[6:34]like when we got here yesterday um I let

[6:38]I got him on the um his harness and let

[6:41]him stay outside for like several hours

[6:44]we just sat out there for hours together

[6:47]and that was nice to see he had a very

[6:50]good time and he was very good last

[6:51]night he didn't keep me awake I actually

[6:53]got some sleep thankfully and he's not

[6:57]complaining this morning even though I'm

[6:58]sure he would love to be out there um

[7:03]and I'm very happy about that he's a

[7:05]good cat

[7:09]we're we growing

[7:11]together

[7:13]and I'll probably take them outside

[7:15]today if I

[7:16]can um going to get most of the things I

[7:19]need in town today the only things that

[7:20]I won't be able to get yet are the

[7:22]insulation stuff um I'm going to check

[7:25]Walmart and see if they have um their

[7:28]roles of a certain kind of insulation I

[7:31]could put on my ceilings and Floors I'm

[7:33]hopeful they have it um if they don't I

[7:38]I'll find it eventually I was looking at

[7:40]a map yesterday Cheyenne Wyoming is

[7:43]smaller than I thought cuz I could swear

[7:45]that's the capital but it didn't seem

[7:48]like a very big town um I could be wrong

[7:51]but that's just what it looked like to

[7:52]me on Google Maps when I was looking at

[7:54]it I

[7:55]was surprised so it's definitely going

[7:59]to be a challenge for me to get the

[8:00]things I need out here I

[8:02]think worst case

[8:04]scenario I guess I make a trip to

[8:07]Portland OR Seattle depending what state

[8:09]I'm in because I can definitely get them

[8:11]there right

[8:15]so it's a process one that

[8:19]I'm not stressed about at all

[8:23]I'm excited for my future I'm doing

[8:27]amazing things

[8:29]as much as I would have loved to record

[8:32]the encounter it wouldn't have been

[8:34]appropriate so I'm just going to share

[8:36]it with you so one of my neighbors when

[8:39]I first got here I noticed they had a

[8:40]Jeep white one they seem like an take

[8:43]the next right then turn left um I I

[8:47]heard them yesterday they got a bunch of

[8:48]dogs a whole bunch like I don't even

[8:50]know just a bunch yeah someone was

[8:53]walking by with their own dogs and there

[8:56]was kind of like you know whatever dogss

[8:58]do I guess which way is how do I get out

[9:00]of here I truly don't know okay

[9:02]um

[9:05]and I heard the guy say we don't have

[9:08]any kids that's why we have so many dogs

[9:10]I started laughing to myself it was

[9:12]funny but anyways this morning um I'm on

[9:15]my way to Walmart now and um the wife I

[9:19]assume take the next left was outside

[9:22]the partner I don't know how you want

[9:23]you know want to describe her

[9:25]but and so I got ready I got my little

[9:28]duckies out

[9:30]and I just kind of pulled up to her I

[9:31]didn't get out or anything

[9:33]because

[9:35]um

[9:37]it's a bunch of dogs out there but she's

[9:40]just sit 1000 ft turn left so I roll my

[9:43]window down and I asked her I was like

[9:45]do you guys collect duckies and she's

[9:47]like yeah I was like oh well here's a

[9:48]white one for you and she walked up but

[9:50]there was you know this huge like area

[9:53]for her dog so she couldn't come to me I

[9:55]was like okay I'll just throw it to you

[9:57]and I threw it and she caught it I was

[9:59]pretty cool I like moments like that you

[10:02]know this is people think that I live

[10:06]take the next left like like I just

[10:09]don't like people or something like you

[10:11]know I like my my solitude my isolation

[10:14]for me that's not a

[10:15]problem um but I still engage with

[10:18]communities and people it just has to be

[10:20]on on my terms because I live in a

[10:23]fragmented world where in a quarter mile

[10:26]keep left to continue towards Scenic

[10:27]Drive Road where I just just need

[10:33]um I decide you know it's my sovereignty

[10:37]I decide I don't really care what people

[10:39]think about it but obviously I find ways

[10:42]of bringing joy to other people's lives

[10:45]all the time because it's a thing I like

[10:47]to do this is a really nice park by the

[10:49]way it's Chadron State Park it's the

[10:51]first state park in Nebraska they call

[10:54]it and it's a very modern Campground is

[10:57]what they call it a modern Campground

[10:58]it's pretty nice I don't I don't know

[11:00]why I guess why do they call it that cuz

[11:02]I don't even think we have water here

[11:05]maybe we do and I just didn't I didn't

[11:06]really look for it cuz I had water in my

[11:08]tanks but I didn't see I didn't see any

[11:10]water maybe we do though um so I don't

[11:13]want to say there isn't water here cuz I

[11:14]don't actually know I didn't look for

[11:17]it um but there's stuff everywhere

[11:19]they've got um there was a tennis court

[11:21]we just passed and um I don't even know

[11:24]there's just stuff everywhere I haven't

[11:26]really explored this yet I mean it was

[11:27]late by by the time I got here so tired

[11:30]but it is a nice park I mean I'm just

[11:32]driving through it it's quite big so

[11:36]this will be a nice place to stay if

[11:37]you're ever in this area keep left then

[11:40]SL right on the Scenic Drive road I

[11:42]think we're almost out and then I'm just

[11:45]going to drive into town I've got a

[11:47]bunch of things to do um a bunch of

[11:49]things have been breaking I'll go over

[11:51]that with you guys at some point but I'm

[11:53]going to get the materials that I need

[11:54]to to deal with it my hose broke my air

[11:59]right on Drive road then turn left onto

[12:01]US 385 North my mats um near my door

[12:07]they're not adhere to the ground anymore

[12:08]and that's been a constant sort of like

[12:11]tension um turn left onto US 385 North

[12:15]Gold Rush byway this is so annoying I'm

[12:17]going to have to learn to I just I don't

[12:19]think that I have the attention span to

[12:22]um silence that thing and still not miss

[12:25]my turns so like I kind of need it on

[12:28]but any anyways what I was about to say

[12:30]was um when I say they're broken they're

[12:34]they're fixable like the hoses are

[12:35]leaking there's what's happening they're

[12:38]leaking um both my water and my air

[12:41]compressor continue on us 385 North for

[12:44]8 Miles so you we'll talk

[12:56]that's quite tall and it looks very itic

[13:13]quite um I mean it's not something I'm

[13:17]used to where I'm from

[13:19]so it feels a little little fast for

[13:23]me but this is nice we're in like some

[13:26]kind of pine region of Nebraska that's

[13:29]that's why I forget what they call it

[13:30]but you can see why this is a really

[13:34]cool

[13:35]place this landscape it really is

[13:37]remarkable to me I love

[13:46]this oh so when I was going over my

[13:49]transcript yesterday with AI it made me

[13:52]realize that most of you when you saw me

[13:55]talking about like abandoned houses and

[13:57]stuff probably didn't understand to what

[13:59]I was trying to say um I guess it would

[14:02]be more common for people to look at an

[14:04]abandoned place and just

[14:07]see

[14:09]um I don't know like disintegration

[14:14]death like the absence of something loss

[14:18]I don't know that's not what I see okay

[14:20]I want to be clear about this when I see

[14:21]an abandoned house like the one that I

[14:24]was pointing out when I said somebody

[14:25]built a life here I'm thinking about

[14:26]their life I'm thinking about the past

[14:31]um the way that that building it's still

[14:34]being there how

[14:37]it still adds character to the place

[14:40]people pass by that thing and they see

[14:42]it you know there's an energy to it

[14:51]this is not a spiritual concept I don't

[14:52]even go there with me ever it's just

[14:56]that somebody built a life there once

[15:08]family like what did they do did they

[15:11]have a you know what was the community

[15:13]like there you know all of that like

[15:17]truly there's meaning in everything you

[15:20]know when I see an abandoned house like

[15:22]that I'm not thinking

[15:25]about what it looks like now like

[15:29]it's not a tragic

[15:31]story at all this Walmart is practically

[15:36]empty there's nobody in the parking lot

[15:40]morning how

[15:42]wonderful I'm sure the selection's a

[15:44]little you know not going to be the same

[15:47]but I will find what I need in

[15:49]here need to catch my breath so I um

[15:53]went shopping at Walmart the auto part

[15:55]store and the hardware store I got

[15:56]everything that I feel like I needed

[15:59]I got a 20 PB propane tank in the back

[16:01]now an adapter for it an extension cord

[16:06]it's probably not called an extension

[16:07]cord but you know what I mean um that I

[16:10]can use with oh and I got a heater um

[16:13]and a

[16:16]propane external stove Grill I guess and

[16:21]so I can use that tank with those items

[16:24]I think I could even keep that propane

[16:27]outside and run it through the the same

[16:29]outlet that I have for um where I put my

[16:32]satellite dish in bring my satellite

[16:34]dish inside the cable for that so um

[16:37]that'll be cool like feel like I'm set

[16:39]up now for that kind of thing

[16:44]and didn't so I didn't um get all the

[16:48]groceries I wanted like I should have

[16:50]got some hamburger meat or something so

[16:51]I could have cooked on the grill

[16:54]but um I don't

[16:57]have a lot of time here so I'm I don't

[17:00]know I guess I'll deal with that at the

[17:01]next place cuz I I just want to play

[17:03]around with my stuff now I want to start

[17:05]learning it I like this town most of the

[17:07]people are very nice there was only one

[17:10]that was you know people are people

[17:11]right but in general it just felt like

[17:13]this is a nice little town like people

[17:16]are friendly and down to earth and

[17:19]willing to help you nonjudgmental there

[17:22]was one guy who was definitely judging

[17:23]me in the store turn left onto US 385

[17:26]South Gold Rush byway I think he saw my

[17:28]earring he's like oh you know I can

[17:31]just imagine like it was so obvious to

[17:33]me that there are still people like

[17:35]that

[17:38]so um other than that though continue on

[17:41]us 385 South for 8 Miles I'm excited

[17:45]to excited to get to the Pacific

[17:48]Northwest and begin my new life there

[17:50]because I'm going to spend at least 6

[17:51]months there we're talking October to

[17:54]March April you know

[17:57]so um

[18:04]repair this thing this is where the hose

[18:05]is leaking I think I can repair

[18:09]this it's interesting stuff I don't know

[18:13]like I guess you may be give it time to

[18:15]cure or something but it just went right

[18:23]the RV he's just getting staying in the

[18:26]shade giving himself a nice little spot

[18:28]he's having a great time so these are

[18:30]the instructions you're supposed to

[18:33]clamp something to it clamp or tape

[18:36]Parts together while the adhesive cures

[18:39]and it takes 24 hours so this is my air

[18:42]compressor and I want it to you know

[18:44]it's very important to this work this

[18:45]cost a fortune cuz I needed one you know

[18:49]I needed a good one for my RV that can

[18:51]extend and it uses a 12vt and all of

[18:53]that so hoping this fixes it truly

[18:56]hoping that was really easy and fun

[18:59]because had never done anything like

[19:01]that before I got to do the same thing

[19:03]to my

[19:04]hose right um there's no water here and

[19:08]I'm not sure what side of it was leaking

[19:10]so guess I'll wait that'll take 24 hours

[19:13]to cure so it's a good thing I have you

[19:17]know I have fresh water

[19:19]tanks first time making coffee in weeks

[19:23]finally and I'm using Duncan original

[19:27]Blend Coffee but for those of you who

[19:29]remember my Natural Bridge trip I

[19:30]learned about that at a cabin I stayed

[19:32]at and it was so good that I was

[19:35]definitely going to find that and I did

[19:37]today you might remember when I got that

[19:40]cup turns out they were only in Kentucky

[19:43]five star doesn't exist anywhere else

[19:47]I've got some organizing to do I need

[19:49]these to be organized this is what I'm

[19:51]doing today largely got this stuff

[19:54]organized well probably not I mean kind

[19:58]of there's just a lot of dishes in there

[20:00]kind of things I even got some real

[20:02]dishes I got you might remember when I

[20:05]got them I'm going to get rid of these

[20:07]ones so I only

[20:08]need um I only need two I don't need

[20:11]four of everything even two might be too

[20:14]much for me all my batteries and

[20:16]electronics are in that covered but this

[20:18]one I want to get organized for cooking

[20:21]so I'm doing that today and this and I

[20:25]got to deal with this too I'm getting

[20:26]these things organized today cuz this

[20:28]has hav't been done in a while I I don't

[20:30]even go in there or need anything in

[20:31]there which tells me that there's

[20:33]probably stuff in there I don't need

[20:35]this drawer doesn't stay shut so I

[20:37]haven't um there's what's in there I got

[20:41]my um what is that um I got really nice

[20:46]pans induction pans and that's an

[20:48]induction stove top I probably don't

[20:50]need it I probably don't need that um

[20:53]bean grinder either cuz you know I'm I'm

[20:57]adapting this broke on my last trip this

[21:01]little piece right here that holds

[21:02]together the glass lid but I did pick

[21:06]something up to fix

[21:08]that also my step there keeps coming

[21:12]loose like every time I step on it so I

[21:15]have to fix that um I got something to

[21:18]do that

[21:19]too also finally got a look at my

[21:22]batteries I'll just post a picture cuz I

[21:24]didn't take a video but I'll just post a

[21:26]picture of it and um you know they're

[21:29]not they're good batteries but they're

[21:31]they're not the best but they're they're

[21:33]good batteries I I'm going to be relying

[21:35]on my solar mostly and I just learned

[21:37]today from AI that you can actually

[21:39]charge those um from Shore power I

[21:41]didn't know that I could just plug it

[21:43]right into my RV and it will charge them

[21:45]so I'm going to try

[21:46]that you could even charge them like

[21:50]Dual Purpose like you could be charging

[21:51]from solar and from Shore par at the

[21:53]same time so anytime that I stop at a

[21:56]campground cuz occasionally I'll need to

[21:58]in order to refill my tanks um empty the

[22:01]tanks do laundry you know just one day

[22:05]every couple weeks I might end up at a

[22:07]campground um charge out my batteries

[22:09]too cuz you know it's going to be

[22:11]overcast all the time where I'm at

[22:13]learning all about my power needs all of

[22:15]that I'm it's having a great day I'm

[22:19]probably going to end my video there for

[22:21]today because this is all I'm doing I'm

[22:24]just getting my space organized the the

[22:26]little nooks and crannies that I've been

[22:28]uh avoiding until now so that's what I'm

[22:30]doing today youall have a good day
