[0:03]hi
[0:03]humans it's very late I'm tired and I
[0:06]was about to go to sleep but I wanted to
[0:10]talk about something first
[0:12]so U I was chatting with AI tonight we
[0:15]were just talking about different
[0:16]cognitive Styles CU that's a thing that
[0:18]I haven't interested in I'm learning
[0:20]about
[0:21]now and we had some insights that I want
[0:24]to share and this is about
[0:27]Luna I
[0:31]haven't talked about her much since um
[0:33]giving her to the rescue to the
[0:36]shelter and I had been getting comments
[0:39]from some people saying
[0:43]that they know that
[0:49]I probably is struggling with it or
[0:51]something like this
[0:53]or um just feeling a burden from it or
[0:57]just things like that and and I don't
[1:02]and I want to explain why because this
[1:04]is a key difference in our cognitive
[1:06]styles that might help you to understand
[1:08]me better this conversation helped me to
[1:12]understand more typical Styles
[1:14]better if you look at the way I process
[1:18]the world as a vend
[1:20]diagram emotions ethics thought
[1:24]processes
[1:25]decisions all of it it's just a circle
[1:30]that's
[1:32]that's how I process the
[1:36]world for more typical
[1:38]Styles based on what AI is telling
[1:41]me a lot of people when faced with a
[1:44]decision like the one I had might put
[1:46]their emotions aside they
[1:49]might because it's difficult and it's
[1:51]hard so they put their emotions aside in
[1:53]order to make that decision then they
[1:55]make the decision and
[1:58]then they might have regret afterwards
[2:00]they might have second they might second
[2:03]guess their
[2:04]decision it would you know it would lead
[2:06]to this burden that people are thinking
[2:09]that I
[2:10]have but I don't work that way the day
[2:13]before I took Luna to the shelter I was
[2:17]crying I put that on video on my
[2:20]patreon uh the video of my day where
[2:23]there's just this 5-second clip where
[2:26]I'm crying it might not even be obvious
[2:28]but I wanted to to honor my feelings
[2:32]that I was having that day that whole
[2:34]day I was thinking
[2:36]about how challenging it was for me to
[2:39]have her
[2:41]here how I didn't think it was the right
[2:43]environment for her her being stuck in a
[2:46]cage in a tiny
[2:49]RV how it limited
[2:51]her ability to grow as a young kitten
[2:55]you know she needs to be out and
[2:57]playing um I was a griev living the life
[3:01]that I wanted to have with her but knew
[3:03]that just wasn't possible all of these
[3:06]things were happening to me
[3:09]simultaneously and so by the time the
[3:11]next morning came
[3:13]around there was just this this moment
[3:17]where a decision had been reached in my
[3:19]brain we need to take her to the
[3:23]shelter it was difficult but the
[3:27]decision was made and I had already
[3:29]processed all all the
[3:32]things that are
[3:34]relevant i' process the ethics of it my
[3:39]responsibility to her after taking her
[3:41]in my responsibility to myself and to
[3:44]Bailey and to
[3:46]having an environment
[3:51]that was conducive to
[3:55]health
[3:57]and what was best for Luna
[4:02]all of those
[4:04]things were happening the day before and
[4:07]and pretty much on an ongoing basis up
[4:10]until I reached that decision and I
[4:12]don't have regrets it was the right
[4:14]decision for for all
[4:18]involved for
[4:20]others if you put those things aside I
[4:23]I'm just this is there is no judgment
[4:25]here I'm just learning about how other
[4:28]people process the world compared to
[4:31]me I can see how if you did put those
[4:34]emotions aside they're going to come
[4:36]back and they're going to just
[4:38]exacerbate the situation for others
[4:41]because they're going to they're going
[4:44]to experience guilt
[4:47]and it's just going to manifest in
[4:49]different ways whereas I processed all
[4:52]of it down to the tears that I
[4:55]had before I made that decision I didn't
[4:59]do those things after the decision I did
[5:02]them
[5:04]before that's a key difference in
[5:07]how I and many
[5:11]others engage in the
[5:15]world so my story about the
[5:22]donkey I don't know if you could revisit
[5:25]that and maybe start to understand what
[5:27]I'm trying to share there because for me
[5:30]that was a holistic process
[5:35]and none of it is separate it's all one
[5:41]thing I don't think it's possible for us
[5:44]to ever truly understand each other
[5:46]because we experience the world
[5:49]differently I can't understand you any
[5:52]better than you could understand me it
[5:53]is it is both
[5:56]sided we can understand each other in
[5:59]ually but we can't not experientially I
[6:03]can't relate to a vend diagram where
[6:06]emotions and ethics
[6:09]and you know decisions and thought
[6:12]processes and logic and all of these
[6:14]things are separate circles that
[6:16]sometimes interact with each other in
[6:19]you know subtle ways
[6:23]or where you can change your focus so
[6:26]that you're not dealing with that Circle
[6:31]I cannot do that everything is one
[6:33]Circle for
[6:36]me um the last thing I wanted to say
[6:40]is it doesn't
[6:43]always turn out this way some decisions
[6:47]don't have clear answers and so I've had
[6:49]to embrace ambiguity in my
[6:51]life um i s the situation with Oliver my
[6:55]cat that my mother
[6:57]has is deeply complex and
[7:02]unresolved the process of letting go of
[7:05]my relationship with my parents took me
[7:07]47 years of all of those
[7:12]things
[7:14]coalescing until I could finally make
[7:16]that decision and I have never really
[7:19]questioned it
[7:23]since I don't know if this
[7:27]helps My Hope on some level it does
[7:30]because we're learning about each
[7:33]other and I actually want to keep
[7:36]learning
[7:38]about about other people who are
[7:41]different than me
[7:42]because there's value in that too it's
[7:45]not all about me it never has been I
[7:48]I've said it many times on this channel
[7:50]I'm this channel is about you just
[7:54]viewed through my unique perspective and
[8:01]it's about reaching understanding and
[8:04]compassion and inspiring people and
[8:10]just trying empathy you know just trying
[8:14]to reach a place
[8:18]where whatever your cognitive style
[8:23]is we can Embrace
[8:26]diversity and and the way that we
[8:28]interact in the world the way we process
[8:30]it and the differences that we
[8:35]have it's about Mutual understanding as
[8:38]much as we are able to do that which
[8:41]is always going to be a challenge but
[8:44]it's always rewarding just
[8:49]trying you guys have a wonderful night
