[0:01]today I'm going to help my fellow humans
[0:03]who struggle with foundational hygiene
[0:05]tasks didn't call them basic hygiene
[0:07]tasks because I think that
[0:10]applies a certain stigma to it makes it
[0:13]sound like anybody should be able to do
[0:15]it and not have a problem I don't think
[0:17]that that's really how life works I've
[0:18]struggled with it my whole life and now
[0:20]I live in a very tiny space and that has
[0:22]made it even more
[0:24]challenging I've had to think through a
[0:26]system that works for
[0:27]me so we're going to talk about that but
[0:30]first I want to talk about some other
[0:32]things that will kind of give this some
[0:34]context hi
[0:35]Bailey typical Bailey over
[0:39]here
[0:41]so in programming we have a concept
[0:43]called State Management and the best way
[0:46]to describe that uh in a non-programming
[0:49]context would be that you're basically
[0:51]just you're keeping track of the status
[0:54]of a
[0:55]thing
[0:58]and actually asked AI how would I
[1:01]describe theam programmers it had a much
[1:02]better explanation I'm just going to put
[1:04]it on the screen but basically State
[1:06]Management is just a way of keeping
[1:08]track of the status of something you
[1:11]know it's in a current configuration
[1:12]it's in a current state of being you can
[1:15]apply this to humans
[1:16]too so I realized that one of the
[1:19]reasons I find it CH so challenging to
[1:21]be around other people is because
[1:23]strangers in particular like if I'm
[1:26]outside and there's something I need to
[1:28]do and I feel like there's people around
[1:31]I feel like I'm being observed that
[1:32]changes my internal state that is a big
[1:35]deal for someone like me who's highly
[1:37]sensitive and so that's why it is a
[1:39]challenge for me and I've had to come up
[1:41]with strategies to deal with that like
[1:43]wearing headphones while I'm
[1:45]outside this affects lots of areas of my
[1:48]life it affects the fact that today is a
[1:49]Saturday and I don't want to go down to
[1:51]the showers because there are just
[1:52]people everywhere so I need another way
[1:55]of taking care of myself that's where
[1:57]the hygiene aspect comes in
[2:00]it applies to many areas and I've only
[2:03]just started
[2:05]to reach a point in my life 47 years old
[2:09]where I actually am not judging myself
[2:11]for this anymore it is so
[2:13]pointless if you are judging yourself
[2:15]for any of these things just don't do it
[2:17]there's no point to that it's not
[2:19]helping you it doesn't matter what other
[2:21]people think of you what matters is that
[2:23]you feel comfortable after a couple of
[2:26]days my hair my scalp starts to get
[2:28]itchy
[2:30]so I needed a solution to this now I'm
[2:33]an intuitive systems thinker this is
[2:35]something I only discovered a couple of
[2:37]days ago they don't teach you this stuff
[2:39]in school they don't teach you that
[2:40]people have different types of cognitive
[2:43]Styles it took me 47 years to learn this
[2:46]about myself to truly understand that my
[2:48]brain just works differently than
[2:50]everybody else's that I know you know
[2:53]and it
[2:54]just I'm not trying to sound frustrated
[2:56]but I was thinking about it this morning
[2:58]and I'm like why don't they teach the
[2:59]Stu stuff in school because these are
[3:01]the things that actually matter these
[3:02]are the things that would have kept me
[3:03]interested I actually dropped out of
[3:05]high school I found that place Tull and
[3:08]boring and
[3:09]pointless and in a lot of ways it is
[3:12]because they're not teaching actual
[3:14]skills that matter like for your whole
[3:16]life it matters that you have a certain
[3:19]cognitive style that others have
[3:21]different cognitive Styles we as humans
[3:24]have a tendency to think that we all
[3:26]think alike but it doesn't work that way
[3:28]our brains are all different and we
[3:30]should be taught these things but they
[3:31]don't teach them to us it just that's
[3:34]kind of messed up you know if you think
[3:36]about it so
[3:38]anyways I need to because there's the
[3:41]intuitive part of the systems thinking
[3:43]is where this comes in I woke up this
[3:45]morning and just kind of had an idea how
[3:47]can I approach this problem and then
[3:49]there's the systems part where I'm
[3:51]thinking about all the factors that go
[3:52]into it I'm thinking about water
[3:54]conservation I'm thinking about the fact
[3:55]I live in a small space you know all of
[3:58]these different factors are I thinking
[4:00]about how that applies to basically
[4:03]every area of my life like me being
[4:05]comfortable or
[4:08]just everything that happens in like all
[4:10]of these different aspects of
[4:13]Life have interconnections with each
[4:15]other and that's just how my brain works
[4:19]so I've been struggling for four months
[4:21]to come up with a system that works for
[4:24]me and it is a system and so that's what
[4:26]I'm doing today um I've got I worked
[4:30]this out with Claud with an AI I came up
[4:33]with this system that I feel works for
[4:35]me and so I'm going to pick some stuff
[4:37]up from Walmart today I'm going to be
[4:41]making like I'm going to be mixing these
[4:43]spray bottles that are for different
[4:45]purposes and then there's you know you
[4:47]use different cloths on different days
[4:49]for different parts of your body like
[4:51]there's just a whole system behind it
[4:54]and this is something that works for me
[4:55]and maybe it will work for you too let's
[4:57]find out
[4:59]don't let people put you in a box we
[5:01]don't all belong in a box the idea that
[5:05]everybody should be able to fit in a box
[5:07]and be like everybody else is
[5:10]even AI has a problem with this I was
[5:12]discussing my clip with it and it labed
[5:16]the way that I approach Life as a
[5:18]disability I had to correct it and say
[5:20]what the did you just say to me
[5:22]this is not a
[5:23]disability we don't have disabilities
[5:26]because we think differently that is not
[5:29]how Life Works the idea that I should be
[5:32]like everybody else is is just absurd I
[5:36]am critiquing the way that Society
[5:38]treats these issues Bailey's trying to
[5:40]get over here because of course he is a
[5:42]second I start talking that's just how
[5:44]that works hi
[5:46]Bailey so I was discussing my clip with
[5:49]Claude
[5:50]because I can see how it is a part of my
[5:54]personal growth journey I can see how
[5:56]I'm integrating these new insights I've
[5:59]had about myself in into the Practical
[6:01]challenges of living I'm actually I'm
[6:03]growing as a person and it made a
[6:05]mistake and it used the word disability
[6:08]at one point in our conversation and I
[6:09]had to correct it and tell it no this is
[6:11]not a disability the way I think the way
[6:14]that I operate in the world my cognitive
[6:17]style those are all valid they are not
[6:19]disabilities they are differences that
[6:21]is all they are the idea that everybody
[6:24]should be able to fit in a box and
[6:26]that's just the way the world should
[6:28]operate
[6:30]it's just wrong it's
[6:33]harmful it's it's not reality because
[6:36]that's not how people work and this is
[6:39]how someone like me as an intuitive
[6:41]systems thinker thinks about these
[6:44]things you cannot put everyone into a
[6:46]box because not everyone is going to fit
[6:48]into that box you need to design a world
[6:52]that is inclusive because that's
[6:55]reality by saying that I should just go
[6:57]down to the showers every single day no
[6:59]matter how uncomfortable it makes
[7:02]me means that I'm just not going to go
[7:04]down to the showers and I'm not going to
[7:05]care for myself I have to find a new
[7:08]strategy something that works for me
[7:10]there's nothing wrong with that so if
[7:12]you struggle with these things remember
[7:14]that Society even Ai and the reason that
[7:16]AI said that is because it's just
[7:18]programmed into its training data it
[7:20]doesn't know better sometimes
[7:23]you it shows you how pervasive this
[7:26]problem is in society because so much of
[7:29]its train training data has pointed it
[7:31]to that word it's just wrong it's time
[7:35]to think about these problems
[7:37]differently let me tie this to the
[7:39]larger themes of my life and what I
[7:43]see because Society is so rigid I'm
[7:45]constantly have to move the camera
[7:47]because Bailey because of the rigidness
[7:51]in which we operate in this Society the
[7:54]way that we demand
[7:57]Conformity that's alienating
[8:00]it has led me to the conclusion that the
[8:02]only thing that will work for me is a
[8:04]cabin in the woods where I can control
[8:07]my environment and be at peace and be
[8:10]true to
[8:11]myself and that is a damning indictment
[8:14]of society itself the structures that we
[8:17]have
[8:18]made that don't accommodate
[8:23]diversity are a big part of why I think
[8:26]this Society is just not going to
[8:28]survive long term because we're not
[8:29]living in reality the reality is that
[8:32]there are different people out there and
[8:35]when you don't think about systems in
[8:38]that
[8:39]way pretending that it's not reality you
[8:43]are creating a dissonance in society
[8:47]itself and that's a problem that's
[8:49]something to think
[8:51]about you can't put me in a box and you
[8:54]shouldn't want to I'm valuable as I am
[8:59]you should want that diversity in the
[9:01]world I have insights that I don't hear
[9:04]other people talking
[9:06]about I I connect with people in ways
[9:09]that I don't see a lot of other channels
[9:11]doing think about that we're not living
[9:14]in
[9:15]reality when we try to put everyone in a
[9:18]box because that's not real life you're
[9:22]trying to make that real life but that
[9:24]will never work therefore you have a
[9:27]structure that isn't sustain stainable
[9:30]and it isn't just at the society level
[9:32]people do it all the time on my channel
[9:35]if I'm talking about something like my
[9:38]challenges with living this RV lifestyle
[9:41]someone might comment that I just need
[9:43]to have a different attitude about it
[9:46]that's them trying to put me in their
[9:50]box no I don't want to be in your box I
[9:53]actually like mine thank
[9:56]you so I was thinking about it I'm not
[9:58]actually sure I would share with you
[10:00]other than me mixing bottles and stuff
[10:02]like that that doesn't make a lot of
[10:04]sense what I'm going to do is just share
[10:05]the clips with you of what Claude output
[10:08]for
[10:09]me and I because this is like an
[10:12]initiation stage for me it's not
[10:14]something that I have integrated into my
[10:17]life it's that'll take time it'll take
[10:19]practice every new skill that you try to
[10:23]learn takes time you know be patient
[10:25]with yourself and and just keep
[10:28]optimizing it for yourself Stu that's
[10:29]that's what I'm going to
[10:31]do uh so I'm going to just at the end of
[10:34]this I'll share some clips with you
[10:36]of the approach that it suggested I have
[10:39]some of my own ideas that go with it I
[10:41]was thinking about I'd share that but
[10:44]ultimately what I'm trying to show you
[10:47]here is that there are ways for you to
[10:51]accommodate your differences or to work
[10:53]with the limited space you know like
[10:55]this environment that I'm in I think
[10:57]this could apply to people who just are
[11:00]struggling and need Solutions and they
[11:03]just haven't thought about it yet or
[11:05]haven't you know haven't thought about
[11:06]it to the extent that I have or whatever
[11:09]you know so I'm just going to share that
[11:11]and hopefully it helps somebody and I'm
[11:15]sure in future content of mine you'll
[11:16]just see me integrate that into my life
[11:18]you know you'll see these new spray
[11:20]bottles in my bathroom that I'm hanging
[11:21]up with Command hooks I'm going to get
[11:23]today and um I'm happy about it cuz my
[11:27]bathroom is so small I could not figure
[11:29]out a way to just deal with anything in
[11:32]there it is so
[11:35]small this feels like a path for that
[11:37]works for me it may not work for you it
[11:41]might inspire you to find things to do
[11:43]though and that's what
[11:58]matters e
