Managing RV Heat and Cooling Systems
Speaker is in their RV during extreme heat wave conditions, with temperatures reaching 90 degrees outside. They are managing multiple cooling systems and considering relocation options. Currently stationed at a sunny campsite with poor shade coverage.

[0:00]it is so so hot it is 90° outside it's
[0:04]been 90° outside every single
[0:07]day somehow I have managed to keep it 15
[0:10]to
[0:11]17° lower in here 73 right now in here
[0:16]75 over you know near the living area 77
[0:20]in the
[0:20]bathroom I have been doing all kinds of
[0:23]things to get this thing to just be cool
[0:24]of course there's reflec on all the
[0:27]windows this is what I did to my
[0:31]that is what made the biggest difference
[0:32]that it brought the temperature down a
[0:34]good
[0:35]10° of course my my curtains it's like
[0:38]90° in the cab
[0:40]area would like to do something with
[0:43]that I need to get need to
[0:46]get a wraparound thing for the windows I
[0:50]do have like reflectors on the sides and
[0:53]a thing on the the main window but it's
[0:56]just not
[0:58]Bailey it's not perfectly sealed or
[1:01]anything a lot of lights coming through
[1:02]so I know there's a lot of heat coming
[1:04][Music]
[1:05]through oh man I have been thinking it
[1:09]might be time to think about different
[1:11]sites cuz this one is directly in the
[1:13]sun I noticed this area here I just put
[1:17]this up last night because if you touch
[1:19]that there's metal behind it you know
[1:21]from the U the slide it was just super
[1:24]hot to the touch you could probably bake
[1:26]an egg on it and that's what happens
[1:28]that's what happens in the um afternoons
[1:31]cuz that's where the sun is hitting at
[1:33]this cat is killing me what do you want
[1:36]Oh my
[1:37]God
[1:39]so doing my best to keep us cool in here
[1:42]and I've done a pretty good job I'd say
[1:44]but of course the air conditioner never
[1:45]kicks off the
[1:47]dehumidifier I have to drain that thing
[1:49]two to three times a day now the
[1:51]humidity it's 50% even what that big
[1:54]thing that I got so it's supposed to
[1:57]rain later
[1:58]today I don't know if that'll cool it
[2:00]down or not that says that tomorrow it's
[2:02]just going to be 90 again
[2:04]so I don't know if this is preparing me
[2:06]for Nevada or not I cuz I'm going to be
[2:09]traveling off seon there all the time
[2:11]that I'm there all 500 days
[2:14]so I just I there are some things I want
[2:17]to do I want to get some like I don't
[2:19]know if it's pain or something else but
[2:21]it's something that you can put on your
[2:23]roof that helps reflect about 50% of the
[2:26]heat according to tat gbt anyways and
[2:30]I'm just going to see if that camper
[2:31]place could do that for
[2:34]me I haven't really checked yet but I'm
[2:36]going to check outside and like that
[2:37]that area where where all the Heat's
[2:39]coming in see if there's anything I can
[2:41]do there my next site
[2:44]is um starts on the 30th and it does
[2:47]have a tree with shade I'm just not sure
[2:48]it's enough I could go into the woods
[2:50]here there's two SES here and I'm
[2:53]thinking about maybe picking shade over
[2:55]internet because you know you're under
[2:57]tree cover so my starlink won't work but
[2:59]but at least we'll be cool and I won't
[3:01]feel like I'm living in a dungeon
[3:03]because all the windows have reflectors
[3:05]on them you know and it just it was
[3:08]depressing me it was honestly depressing
[3:10]me today it's like I didn't this is what
[3:13]I was getting away from I didn't want to
[3:15]live in a dungeon my house felt like a
[3:17]dungeon
[3:19]so and I realized it you know I'm like
[3:21]okay I can understand my feelings right
[3:24]now this isn't how I want to
[3:26]live so I might have to to sacrifice my
[3:30]internet just to keep us cool this
[3:32]summer until we can leave for
[3:35]Nevada keep doing what I can do by the
[3:37]way I was curious how long it's been
[3:40]since I smoked a cigarette June 9th was
[3:42]the day I quit finally June 8th so you
[3:45]know that night since June 9th I have
[3:48]been smoke free minus this Vape which is
[3:50]always in my
[3:51]hands I think that's progress though
[3:54]Bailey is now chilling down here are you
[3:57]having fun Bailey Just cat has just been
[4:00]I I'll share a clip with you he's a
[4:02]couple of them he's just oh he's a needy
[4:23]cat do you see something out there
[4:44]hard to put clothes away with this
[4:46]one Bailey are you having fun in there
[4:51]is that a nice spot
[5:02][Music]
[5:05]all

Summary
The speaker addresses extreme heat management in their RV during 90-degree weather. They describe various cooling strategies including reflective window coverings, dehumidifier operation, and air conditioning usage. The speaker installed new reflective material on hot metal surfaces and is considering relocating to shaded campsites, potentially sacrificing internet connectivity for cooler temperatures. They mention upcoming travel to Nevada and reflect on not wanting to live in a "dungeon" with all windows covered. The speaker also notes being smoke-free since June 9th, now using a vape instead. Their cat Bailey appears throughout the transmission, being described as needy and active in the heat.
