[0:05]on my plans I did script this I'll try

[0:07]to make it sound as natural as I can

[0:10]they're my words but I just want to get

[0:11]this right so I scripted this one I

[0:15]bought this RV with a dream in mind to

[0:17]disconnect from a life that no longer

[0:19]suited me and embrace a lifestyle that

[0:21]felt more genuine and

[0:23]fulfilling it was a bold move meant to

[0:25]be the beginning of living my best life

[0:27]but even with these steps towards

[0:29]independence there's a lot more I need

[0:30]to

[0:31]achieve living in a campground has its

[0:34]Comforts constant access to power water

[0:36]and other amenities but this Comfort

[0:39]comes at a cost everything from what is

[0:41]essentially rent which is approaching

[0:43]the cost of household rent to paying

[0:45]$240 a month for electricity double what

[0:48]I paid at home but more than the

[0:50]financial aspect it's about the

[0:52]lifestyle the Close Quarters introduce

[0:54]structures I sought to escape loud

[0:57]neighbors intrusive passers by dogs

[0:59]barking

[1:00]the other night a large group played

[1:02]karaoke late into the night clearly

[1:04]drunk and unconcerned about their

[1:05]actions on others it's a reminder of the

[1:08]Solitude I crave and how vital it is for

[1:10]my

[1:11]well-being I'm gearing up for a

[1:13]transition to full-time boondocking

[1:16]starting in the Nevada desert this isn't

[1:18]just a move it's a strategic shift to

[1:20]reclaim my solitude and Independence

[1:23]while I'm setting up for this major

[1:24]change my stay here is limited to 3

[1:26]months possibly shorter if I can manage

[1:28]it I want to hit the the road by Autumn

[1:31]taking Scenic byways to enrich the

[1:33]journey and share with you though I'm

[1:34]eager to get to my

[1:36]destination getting off the grid means

[1:38]rethinking how I use resources for

[1:41]energy I'm considering whether to

[1:42]enhance my RV setup with better

[1:44]batteries than an inverter even if

[1:47]upgrades aren't feasible right now my

[1:48]blue EDI system should hold up with its

[1:50]solar panels and batteries for water I'm

[1:53]figuring out how to reduce my

[1:54]consumption especially since I

[1:56]frequently wash my hands and I have

[1:59]discovered so much water I use doing

[2:01]that I'm exploring water saving

[2:04]practices that don't compromise hygiene

[2:06]like using sanitizers and perfecting low

[2:08]water dish cleaning

[2:09]techniques also trying to figure out

[2:12]what to do

[2:14]about showering like I I might do that

[2:17]outside when I'm boondocking but you

[2:18]know you kind of need alternatives to

[2:21]that as someone who's reached 47 years

[2:24]old without mastering the basics of

[2:26]cooking taking on off cooking is not

[2:28]just a challenge it's a steep learning

[2:31]curve I'm setting aside my usual

[2:33]reluctance to use propane choosing

[2:35]instead a set of solar compatible tools

[2:37]like a charcoal grill an electric

[2:39]skillet and a crock poot complemented by

[2:41]a dutch oven for

[2:43]versatility as I start from scratch

[2:45]learning to cook for the very first time

[2:47]I'll be documenting this journey on my

[2:48]channel I've already started this this

[2:51]is an opportunity to to demystify off-

[2:54]grid cooking for others who might feel

[2:56]daunted by it like I do and I'm Keen to

[2:59]receive tips and feedback from the

[3:02]community there's also practical work to

[3:04]be done on my RV from replacing

[3:07]tires to better withstand rough terrains

[3:10]to enhancing insulation against the

[3:11]looming summer heat I'm crafting

[3:13]barriers for my windows to keep the

[3:15]interior

[3:16]cool started on that

[3:19]also they're not done I don't do

[3:21]anything like halfway so wait until you

[3:29]windows to keep the interior cool and

[3:31]setting up my living space to with

[3:33]withstand the rigors of travel and the

[3:35]harshness of remote living I giving this

[3:42]preparation is leading to Nevada where I

[3:44]plan to immerse myself in the Star

[3:52]than just survival it's about reflecting

[3:54]on my life reassessing my dreams and

[4:04]comfort I've actually been thinking a

[4:07]lot about that lately

[4:12]it is that you truly value I threw my

[4:16]coffee maker out over a week ago um not

[4:19]all what's positive though like I'm

[4:21]still drinking Mountain Dew I'm smoking

[4:22]clearly I value those things I'm still

[4:24]doing them right

[4:26]um I've dedicated a lot of my space just

[4:29]just for cooking because that really is

[4:31]a priority for me now I mean there's

[4:33]just so much that this lifestyle teaches

[4:36]you that I was not even thinking about

[4:38]when I did this so it's kind of

[4:40]remarkable to me actually and I actually

[4:42]tried to talk about this early I just

[4:44]didn't feel like it was a very good

[4:45]video so I didn't post it but you know

[4:47]once I have my thoughts worked out I'll

[4:50]probably share more about that cuz I

[4:51]really feel like this lifestyle

[4:54]has it's had a profound impact on me

[4:57]already so this journey is a about

[4:59]transformation and challenging the very

[5:01]Foundation what I consider home and

[5:03]comfort as I document these changes I
